ChessDream Analysis Extension — Privacy Policy

    Last updated: June 11, 2026

    1. Overview

The ChessDream Analysis browser extension has a single purpose: it adds an "Analyze with ChessDream" button to chess.com game pages so you can open your finished game on ChessDream for analysis. This policy describes what the extension does and does not do with data.

    2. Data We Collect

The extension does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. Specifically, it has:

    • No analytics or tracking of any kind
    • No cookies and no local storage of your data
    • No background activity — it only runs on chess.com pages
    • No access to your chess.com account or credentials

    3. What Happens When You Click the Button

When — and only when — you click the "Analyze with ChessDream" button, the extension reads the game record (PGN) of the game shown on the page. The PGN contains the moves played, the players' public usernames, and the result — the same information chess.com displays publicly for that game. The PGN is then opened in a new tab on chessdream.app solely so the game can be analyzed. Nothing is sent anywhere until you click the button, and nothing other than the game record is ever sent.

    4. Permissions

The extension requests access to chess.com pages only. This is required to display the button and read the game record when you ask it to. It does not read or modify any other websites.

    5. Data on chessdream.app

Once a game is opened on chessdream.app, your use of the website is covered by the ChessDream website privacy policy.

    6. Changes to This Policy

If the extension's behavior changes in a way that affects privacy, we will update this page and the extension's store listing before releasing the change.
